Just Another MANICure Monday: Oh Christmas Tree

Christmas is just two days away! Can you believe it?!?! This year has flown by, before you know it we’ll be ringing in the New Year and making resolutions.

Sometimes I wish I could just push the pause button and give myself a second or two to take it all in. Christmas is such an exciting time of year! I absolutely love it. So of course this week’s MANICure is Christmas inspired.

MANICure Monday: Black Friday Edition

MANICure-Monday-Badge-e1353864285351

Whew! It’s December already and the countdown to Christmas and New Year’s is in full effect! Can you believe it?

Well, this week’s mani is inspired by Black Friday, which I’m aware was last week…better late than never, right? I had every intention of polishing my nails on Thanksgiving eve but totally lost all track of time. I ended up putting off until I just didn’t feel like doing it at all. *sigh* But despite my busted nails I did enjoy myself. I had an awesome Thanksgiving break! It’s always a good time when you spend it with family and friends.

Midweek Mani: Mint Candy Sparkle

20131009-134240.jpg

It’s been a while since I’ve done a manicure post of any kind. Like I mentioned in my last post, I’ve been super busy and overwhelmed with life so polishing my nails hasn’t been on my to-do list for a while. But any who I managed to squeeze in some me time and treated myself to a self-mani.

This manicure was inspired by a picture I saw on Instagram and for the life of me I can not remember who posted it. All I can remember is that I thought it was super cute and I wanted to recreate it…

What do you think? I’m kinda digging the color combo…especially how the glitter pops on the charcoal grey polish. What color are you rocking on your nails this week?

Midweek Mani: Full Steam Ahead

This past weekend was bitter-sweet and extremely busy…I’ve been spending the past few days playing catch up just to do it all over again this weekend. School will be starting next week and yes I’m crunk about it but don’t tell my boys. With all the craziness going on I needed to take a moment to breathe. And what better way to relax than with a mani…

This week’s mani is special because the polish was gifted to my by a fellow vlogger, SweetOne1299. A few weeks ago, she posted pictures on Instagram of several great clearance cosmetic finds she scored from her local Walgreens. So I ran to my local Walgreens, within minutes of her post (it’s just that serious) and found the nothing! But SweetOne1299 came to my rescue…lol! She sent me a box of goodies! All I can say is her name definitely fits her…

Manicure Monday: So Cute Diamond Gold

It’s been a while since I did a Manicure Monday post…I’ve been so busy with my boys this summer that polishing my nails has been the last thing on my mind. And not to mention the past few times I’ve polished my nails they seem to chip on the first day and y’all know how annoying that can be. I’m not really sure what the deal is with that, so I’m on the hunt for a new base coat and top coat…suggestions please!!!

Today’s mani is pretty simple…I used an old fav, So Cute by Sheswai Lacquer. I’ve had this polish for quite some time, it’s a beautiful peach shade and with staying power. *crosses fingers for chip free nails*

Of course I had to add glitter…

Julep in July

Wowzas! Julep is awesome! It’s only July 2nd and I’ve already received the my box for this month!

I signed up for Julep about two months ago…I posted about my first box here and this month’s box is my third one. I had every intention of sharing last month’s box, which was awesome btw,  but I’m sure I was super busy being a lazy bum while my kiddos were gone and completely let time pass me by. Sad I know, but I your girl was taking full advantage of my kid-free week…lol.

This month’s box wasn’t necessarily as great as the past two but it definitely wasn’t a total disappointment either. But of course, that is the chance you take with these monthly subscription services. Check out my Julep in July box and let me know what you think….

Tracy

Clearly from the pictures Angela and Tracy look almost identical but trust me they are not. Angela is a “spectrum of dark blue and green,” and Tracy is more of a sparkly blue. And when placed side by side you can totally see the difference. Then there’s Nadia, my fav, a yellowish goldish combo that I can’t wait to try! Like I said earlier, the Julep in July box was a big hit for me this month. My thoughts might change once I actually swatch the polishes though…

And Julep always adds a little something extra…

Just Another MANICure Monday: Julep Maven Review

I mentioned in a post a few weeks ago that I had just recently signed up for the nail subscription box, Julep Maven and since I rocking “naked nails” right now I decided to do a review of Julep Maven instead of my normal Just Another MANICure Monday post.

Julep Maven Review 2 (1)

If you follow me on Instagram or FB (and I hope you do) then you know how much of a couponer/bargain shopper I am…so I usually only purchase nail polish when it goes on sale or clearance. Rarely do I ever pay full price and the thought of paying over $5 is just ridiculous to me…feel free to judge that last statement. But after months and months of seeing/reading bloggers rave about Julep Maven, I finally broke down and signed up. The straw that broke the camels back was when I received an email from Julep Maven saying that the first box was on them and all I had to pay was $3.99 for shipping. Although that’s not totally FREE I thought it was a pretty awesome deal especially for a service that gets so many great reviews.

Julep Maven Review 2 (2)

For those of you that may not be familiar with Julep Maven, it’s a monthly subscription service that “delivers exclusive access to at least $40 worth of products handpicked to suit your style” for only $19.99/month. Signing up is easy…basically you just answer the Julep Maven style quiz questions and your introductory box is shipped within 3 business days.

According the Julep Maven style quiz, I’m an “It Girl!” I placed my order on Monday and sure enough it arrived on Thursday…a total plus for me! In my excitement I opened the box immediately and swatched each polish right then. Check out what I received in the May “It Girl” box….

Julep Maven Review 2 (4)

The “It Girl” May introductory box included three full-sized nail polishes,  a nail polish remover pad and an emery board.

Simone

Simone

The picture above doesn’t do this particular shade any justice…Simone is actually a beautiful pastel lilac with a little iridescence (which I just noticed). I did a post rocking this shade which will give you a better idea of how pretty it really is.

Carly

Carly

Carly speaks for herself in this picture. As you can see it’s a bright, bold blue glitter. I probably won’t rock this shade alone but I think it will definitely make for an awesome accent over another shade.

Stefani

Stefani

Stefani is an interesting shade…it’s a metallic grey polish with flecks of gold glitter. This one is not necessarily my favorite but I’m sure I’ll find something fun to do with it.

Bonus items

Bonus items

The nail polish remover pad, which will come in handy when I’m on road/traveling this summer, and the emery board were my two bonus items. As you can see I’ve already used the emery board…it works. Lol

So what’s the final verdict of my first Julep Maven box? I love it! I paid just $3.99 for over $40 worth of nail products. You definitely can’t beat that! What I like even more is that I can skip boxes if I’m not in love with my monthly picks and I can cancel at anytime. To score you first Julep Maven box FREE enter code FREEBOX at checkout.

Just Another MANICure Monday: Didn’t Make the Cut

I hope y’all enjoyed your Mother’s Day weekend. I had a chance to visit my folks and my grandparents which is always a treat. Since I was out-of-town, I didn’t get a chance or even feel like doing anything extra special with my nails. I ended up rocking a pretty neutral nail polish…a little on the blah side and not really worth sharing in my opinion. So this weeks MANICure Monday post is going to be a little different. I’ve decided to share the mani’s that didn’t quite make the Just Another MANICure Monday list for whatever reason…

This is one of my favs and I'm not sure why I never posted it.

What are you rocking on your nails this week? Do you have a fav mani color? Did you do anything special this weekend?

Just Another MANICure Monday: Dotted Nude

Yeah, I know I just posted about my weekend mani but it didn’t last very long after all the cleaning on Friday and Saturday, so you know I had to change it. Other than cleaning and running a few errands my weekend was pretty relaxing. The weekend highlight was the homemade salsa I whipped up for Cinco de Mayo. Of course, I found the recipe on my fav site Pinterest…it was quick, simple and delicious. Anywho, on to this week’s MANICure…

I wasn’t quite sure what I wanted to do with my nails this week. I wasn’t feeling the glitter accent nail and I didn’t want to go with just a plain ol’ mani either. But it was kinda late so I had to do something simple, so I pulled out my trusty dotting tool. I decided to go with my fav nude, Sand Tropez by Essie. And I love how bright colors just pop against that shade so I got busy. Check out what I came up with.

Weekend Mani: Sparklicious Simone

I’m finally a cool kid! I’m a Julep Maven! I’ve been dying to try out this monthly subscription service for some time now and I finally, well randomly signed up. Be on the look out for a full review next week.

Well of course I couldn’t wait to try out my new polishes…in fact I tested them all as soon as I opened my box. Yep, I’m like a kid at Christmas, lol. I ended up going with the pinkish, lavender shade, Simone. And of course I had to add a little extra. Check it out…
