Manicure Monday: So Cute Diamond Gold

It’s been a while since I did a Manicure Monday post…I’ve been so busy with my boys this summer that polishing my nails has been the last thing on my mind. And not to mention the past few times I’ve polished my nails they seem to chip on the first day and y’all know how annoying that can be. I’m not really sure what the deal is with that, so I’m on the hunt for a new base coat and top coat…suggestions please!!!

Today’s mani is pretty simple…I used an old fav, So Cute by Sheswai Lacquer. I’ve had this polish for quite some time, it’s a beautiful peach shade and with staying power. *crosses fingers for chip free nails*

Of course I had to add glitter…

What are you rocking on your nails this week? What base and top coat do you use? What are some of your tips for a lasting mani?

Hi Roni. Just came across your site on a random internet scroll… I share your passion for self-mannies, and I always hear women complain that their nails always chip. I NEVER have that problem! I don’t use a base coat (unless I’m using a sheer color or a light color that will streak if I don’t), but I use Sinful Colors nail polish (HATE the name, but LOVE the product!), and a top coat by Orly called Sec N Dry. My mannies last about a week and a half, two weeks before my nails start to grow out and the color starts wearing down around the tips. I will say though, the Orly Sec N Dry is a THICK coat, so it is a challenge getting the color off. Not difficult, just requires a little effort and elbow grease, lol. Love the site btw! 🙂

Thanks so much! I never have that kind of luck with my mani’s but I will definitely have to look into the Orly Sec N Dry. Thanks for the tip!
