Natural Hairstyles of 2013

I love my natural hair and it’s versatility. Since the year is coming to a close in a few days, I decided to take a look back at my natural hair styles of 2013.

Early this year I installed Marley Twist, a style I hoped would last at a month but only lasted about a week or two. I ranted about it here.

I also tried the Bantu Knot Out earlier this year. I love the shrinkage and fullness but it’s definitely a style that needs work.

I also revisited the Wash’n Go this year. I personally prefer the Wash’n Go on shorter hair but I might give this one another go too.

I experimented with a few new updo styles too.

The Twist’n Bun is my go-to style on a bad hair day. I love it…simple and chic!

And when all else fails, I throw in a what I like to call a Pony Puff.

The Twistout

I used to be a die-hard braidout girl but once I mastered the twistout,  I’ve been in love ever since. Now it’s my go-to style for all occasions!

What’s your favorite natural hair style of 2013? Will you be trying any new hair styles in the upcoming year? Are you ready for 2014?

I cut off over 7 years of natural hair in 2013, foolishly got a relaxer and ended up cutting it off again! 2014 will be the year I start my loc journey and im looking forward to it!

I’ve been seriously thinking about cutting mine but I’m not sure if I have the guts to go through with it. I can’t believe you cut it after 7 years then relaxed it. But I’m sure your locs are going to be beautiful!
