Hey “Savvy Readers!”
I had another busy weekend! Now on Friday I had planned on washing my hair but instead my day was filled with unwanted anticipation of thunderstorms, hail and tornadoes. Needless to say I didn’t wash it. Thank God the storms passed by us and we were only hit with some heavy rain. (My prayers go out to those who were not as fortunate.) Then Saturday was packed with fun, the fam and I went to a birthday party. I forgot to take my camara, so I didn’t snap any pictures…I’m not sure what I was thinking. I personally thought my outfit was cute and perfectly suited for a child’s birthday party. But you’ll just have to take my word for it since I failed to take pictures (lol). Then there was church on Sunday, “Speak Lord” was the sermon taken from Ezekiel 37:1-4, and yes it was right on time. And finally back home…
But in all the hustle and bustle I did get a chance to stop by one of my favorite places. I’m a sucker for fresh fruits and veggies. And I am a big supporter of local farmers markets and businesses. So we stopped in at Durbin Farms, a great place to hit up if you ever on I65. I really love this place during the spring and summer months, but you can always find great stuff year round. I managed to take a few pictures using my camera phone…
They carry all kinds of butters, jams and ciders. As well as pickled everything (lol). Personally, I am not fan of any of it but my hubby always seems to find something.
They have fresh peanuts roasting and they smell delicious. I must have been really hungry this time around because I swear those peanuts were calling my name…
Strawberries…my favorite fruit! They looked so yummy, I had to get some just to see if they were any good.
And they had tons of oranges, tangerines and apples (not pictured).
YUM! The veggies looked so good. We had to get some green tomatoes…they will be fried in the near future.
I guess since I didn’t get to wash my hair, I will be doing that soon. I’m excited I have a new shampoo and conditioner to try out and they smell extra yummy. I will be posting a review on it as well, so be on the look out. If you have any comments, questions or requests please leave them below or send an email to thesavvyhousewifeblog@yahoo.com. Until next time…
~Stay savvy y’all!
